The Benefits of Forest School
Research now backs up what forest school practitioners have known all along – that children and young people are stimulated by the outdoors and typically experience, over time, an increase in their self belief, confidence, learning capacity, enthusiasm, communication and problem-solving skills and emotional well-being.
At MOSPS we have prepared our own Forest School area onsite which the children have named, 'Little Wood'.
Our YR and Infant pupils have regular Forest School sessions throughout the year as part of the curriculum.
The Juniors have a lunchtime Forest School Club that they can attend as and when they wish to.
Forest School at Milford-on-Sea is run by Claudia Bailey of Wild Wood Forest School and supported by the YR and Infant Teaching Teams.
