During the Summer Term, 15 Year 6 children have been chosen to take part in 'The Acorn Project' at Oakhaven Hospice, in Lymington. The project aims to broach the subject of illness and death in a supportive environment. So far, the children have had a tour of the Hospice and have met several patients. They have explored different medical equipment and have learnt how important it is for the patients to retain as much independence and dignity as possible during their time at Oakhaven. The children have also been working alongside a group of patients to create giant postcards about an area of the New Forest.
