EXCELLENCE AND ENJOYMENT

The Acorn Project 2018

This term, some Year 6 children have had the opportunity to take part in The Acorn Project.

The Acorn Project is run by Oakhaven Hospice, in Lymington, and it gives the children an insight into the wonderful work that hospices do. All the children in Year 6 had the opportunity to apply to take part in the project and the teachers had the very difficult task of reading all the applications and choosing the lucky 16 children. The children spend three weeks visiting the hospice and getting to know the patients and volunteers. They have also been taking part in some arty activities linked with our History topic of Ancient Greeks. During the final week, the children (and patients and volunteers) dressed up as Ancient Greeks and participated in a mini Olympics. They also shared some of their musical talents.
