40 Runners Represent Milford At Cross Country Event!
This year’s ‘All Years Cross Country’ event at Priestlands gave us our first opportunity to send out teams from every year group. 40 children from Yr R to Yr 6 refused to let the cold weather and muddy, slippery conditions get in the way of having fun, running! It takes more than challenging, wintery conditions to deter MOSPS athletes and they all arrived at Priestlands enthusiastic and raring to go!
The first race of the afternoon saw YrR and Yr 1/2 pupils set off around the course. Every single young runner gave their best and put in a super effort from start to finish. A special well done to Mabel, who powered through the pack to take first place and win an event Gold medal.
The afternoon continued with Yr 3/4 and 5/6 races. All of our athletes impressed us with their determination and resilience, especially Floss, who injured herself in the warm-up but, after being patched up, still took part in the race. Will deserves a special mention too, as he ran a fantastic race and came in second, winning silver in the YR 5/6 category.
While it was lovely to have some MOSPS pupils on the podium, it was the attitude, effort and enthusiasm of our runners that made each of them winners in our eyes. Well done to everyone who competed!
Thanks to Mrs Robinson and Mrs Elliot for accompanying the children and to Mrs Dunn and Mrs Turner for their support in coordinating and supporting so many children. Many thanks too, to all the other parents who came along and supported, especially those who stayed until the very end!
