This half term, the children voted for our next topic to be called ‘Frozen’, looking at all things cold. We have enjoyed reading plenty of stories about the cold such as as ‘Penguin Small’ and ‘One snowy night’. The children have learnt about the coldest places on earth with our cuddly globes! We have watched parts of "The March of the Penguins" and this has led to some super art work including glittery snowmen and finger print penguins. The children have explored ice and how it changes and they have been rescuing the polar animals trapped in ice cubes! We have been using the small world polar animals to introduce the children to addition and subtraction stories and they have used this knowledge to then make up their own stories. We have learnt lots of new sounds this half term! Below are some examples of some fantastic writing-we are very proud of their perseverance and enthusiasm - what great learners we have!
