KS1 Footballers Shine
This week Mrs Rand took a team of our younger pupils to represent the school in the PSP KS1 5 a-side Football Festival. They were lucky enough to have a break in the weather , which allowed them to play in glorious autumnal sunshine – but saying that, I don’t think even torrential rain would have dampened their spirits!
There were five other schools at the event, so our players had four games to look forward to. The first match was full of action and goals, ending up as a 2-2 draw. The second match was, once again, keenly contested but we were beaten in the end by 1-0.
Mrs Rand was very impressed with the way the team turned their disappointment into a determination to take something from the next game. It was another close match, but take something they did - winning 1-0.
After a rest period in the round-robin format (which they spent training with Yr 9 sports leaders from Priestlands,) the play was brought to a close with one last game. This was another very close affair, but a game they eventually lost 1-0.
Mrs Rand was very proud of the effort, sportsmanship and behaviour shown by team MOSPS. Their We Care values were plain for all to see!
Their efforts saw them head home with huge smiles and well-earned 3rd place certificates.
Well done to everyone who took part!
Thanks as always to Mrs Rand and to all the parents who helped with transport on the day.
Next up, it will be the chance of the KS2 pupils to show their skills on the football pitch.
