Everyone A Winner at KS1 Gymnastics Event
This week’s sports event at Priestlands was, like the Inclusion event earlier this term, not competitive, but rather an opportunity for children to enjoy being active and learning new skills.
A team of 6 pupils from KS1 attended the Gymnastics event and it proved to be a fun afternoon for all the schools involved. They got the opportunity to learn some new skills and use some exciting new equipment:
The children learnt vaulting skills, trampolining and used Priestlands’ air track to practise jumping, rolling and tumbling techniques.
The afternoon also included a fantastic gymnastic demonstration from Joe Torpey, ex-Priestlands pupil, former British Champion and head coach at New Forest Gym Club.
Mrs Robinson was really impressed with the effort, attitude and behaviour of our pupils who, as ever represented our school brilliantly.
Thank you to Mrs Robinson for accompanying the children and supporting them over the afternoon and thanks too, to all of the parents who provided taxis and who stayed to encourage and support their children.
