Goals-a-Plenty For KS1 Hockey Squad
The first sporting half term of 2020 was brought to a close with the KS1 Uni-hoc tournament at Priestlands.
Uni-hoc is an entry-level version of hockey played with plastic sticks and larger, lighter balls.
As ever, many the players who put themselves forward for the tournament had little, or no experience of competitive hockey, but they were keen to give it a go and try their best and the enthusiasm and energy with which they performed all afternoon made them a credit to the school.
Over the course of the tournament their progress was clear to see with nearly all team members contributing to the impressive haul of 18 goals before the end of play.
Mrs Robinson was really impressed with the attitude, sportsmanship and teamwork displayed by all of the members of the team and said that there was no doubt that they gave 100% from start to finish.
It is lovely to hear then, that their efforts were awarded with a 3rd place finish and bronze medals. Well done team!
Thanks, as ever, go to Mrs Robinson for managing the squad and to the team of super supportive parents who transported the players to and from the venue and offered such brilliant support all afternoon.
