Remote Learning
Our Remote Learning provision, as set out in the table below will commence should one of the following instances occur: A teacher self-isolating in response to track and trace, or waiting for a test; A pupil self-isolating, or waiting for a test; a class bubble (including staff) self-isolating due to confirmation of a positive test result; or in the event of school closure (under guidance from Hampshire's Education Authority, or from the DfE). Further information on our provision is outlined in the table below.
Lots has been learned from the school closures between March and June and our remote learning will aim to provide a relatively normal programme of teaching across all or most curriculum subjects.
The provision has been set up by your child's class teacher and will be available throughout the time your child is absent from school.

Critical Worker / Vulnerable pupil provision due to enforced lockdown of whole school |
Home Learning (not guided by teacher) / Remote Learning (guided by teacher) |
In the event that we are offering provision to vulnerable pupils and children of Critical workers, these pupils will access similar home learning/remote learning activities (provided by their class teacher) at school - under the supervision of available staff (Senior Leadership and Learning Support Assistants). Class teachers will be in charge of planning, delivering and assessing home learning/remote learning for their classes. |
What are the expectations to complete and submit Home/Remote Learning?
During the enforced school closures earlier this year, while we made sure that there was sufficient work set by all staff to allow our pupils to complete the content of their curriculum from home, we decided not to set a one-size fits all expectation regarding completion and submission of Home Learning. As a consequence, different families approached the Home learning in different ways, completing as much, or as little as they saw fit.
Unsurprisingly having returned to school post lockdown, the absence of home learning for some children has had a significant impact on their progress and learning stamina. Back at school they are of course picking up again and making good progress but it is likely that we will experience future lockdowns or periods of remote learning. The Department for Education have made their expectations clear in what we need to provide for parents and that we need to check that home learning is being completed and assess it. We will therefore be asking that every effort is made for children to complete their daily remote learning during these periods.
