On 5th March 2020, we visited the SeaCity Museum in Southampton as part of our Titanic topic.
We were lucky enough to have three activities:
1. A Titanic workshop, during which we handled real artefacts, explored how many of the 'watertight compartments' could have been breached without the ship sinking, and had to decide who should get the limited lifeboat seats!
2. Explored the 'Gateway to the World' exhibition, which looked at Southampton's history from the Stone Age all the way up to modern day,
3. Visiting the Titanic museum itself, which had lots of opportunities for hands-on activities and also helped us in our debate about who was to blame for the sinking.
What a great day!
