Walhampton Cross Country 2019
Well done to all who took part in the Cross Country event on Wednesday 27th February.
36 runners represented the school in teams from year 4,5 and 6 and every runner did their best and made the parents watching and Mrs Robinson very proud.
The course was a long and gruelling one in each age category and there were lots of other runners to negotiate and try to overtake as they went. Most races involved over 100 participants!
We were so impressed to hear all the children coming back buzzing with pride and wearing their placement numbers proudly on their hands. Many of our children achieved top thirty positions, which was no mean feat!
Special congratulations go to Will, for coming FIRST in the Yr 5 boys' race, Alexa, for placing 2nd in the yr 5 girls' race and Henry for coming 3rd in the Yr 6 boys' race.
A huger thank you to Mr Snook and Mrs Dunn for taking the children to the start line and being so encouraging throughout the afternoon!
Thank you also to all the parents who provided such super support on the afternoon.
And finally, a special thank you to Lily from Yr 5, who stopped during her race to help a child from another school who had fallen over and winded themselves. What a fantastic embodiment of our 'We Care' values!
