Home Learning - Week beginning 18th May
This week's topic-web is designed to get you all thinking about homes. This theme is about considering the importance of our homes and the people in them. We will be thinking about the different homes people (and animals) live in and how these are adapted to different needs and consider various activities that take place in our homes.
Whatever year group you are in, you can work together on aspects of the topic theme. Select activities from the topic web that you would like to do - either on your own, with your brother/sister, or together as a family.
As always, we love seeing what you have been up to, so remember to e-mail your teacher with pictures. Thanks to all the children and parents who have already sent things through to us - we love seeing and hearing all about your lock-down experiences and Home Learning!
In addition to the topic-web work, your teachers will have set you Maths and English work that is specific to your Year group / Class.
See the notes below the topic web.
We have set you some more challenges on Education City. Make sure to check your homework section and complete the challenges.
In addition to the Education City tasks and those in the topic web above, this week we would like you to have a go at the ‘Talk for Writing’ unit based around Doors – A World of Possibility. You’ll find this in the documents below.
Please remember to send us your writing – we love seeing what you’ve been doing!
This week, we would like you to read two more chapters of your chosen book. Then, in your reading journal, write a diary entry of the recent events from the point of view of one of the characters. Remember to include their thoughts and feelings about what has happened.
Well done for those of you who have been doing your My Maths tasks each week.
This Week's My Maths:
All pupils have been set a range of different tasks on My Maths. Don’t forget that you can use the ‘Practice’ page first so you know what to do. It might be useful to have some paper for jottings.
In addition to the My Maths Tasks, there are also the White Rose Daily Maths tasks (with video tutorials).
To access the White Rose videos, click on the link and look for your year group.
The follow up tasks are now not available from the WR website, so please click here to access them:
The BBC Bitesize lessons are also a good way to practise your skills.
