One of our favourite lessons during this topic was 'The Curator's Dilemma'! After learning about various artefacts and what they were used for, we had to decide on only a handful of objects to place in our museum which we felt best showed what life was like on the Home Front. We then created a 'tent card' for each object to teach others about them.
We absolutely loved our Evacuee Day! We completed an enquiry into what life was really like for evacuees, tried our hand at baking 'ration scones' (and eating them!) and finished the day with a wonderful visit from John, who really was A Boy In The Blitz! It was his 86th birthday, so naturally we had to have birthday cake too!
