Year 5-6 Quadkids Athletics Event
This week it was the turn of the upper juniors to return to Covid-Friendly competition at Priestlands.
On Wednesday afternoon, our Yr 5-6 team set off with Mrs Robinson to take part in their Quadkids athletics competition.
Mrs Robinson was once again really proud of the performance of every member of the team, who were to athletes short. With some children needing to run twice to cover absences, it really was a case of digging deep and pushing themselves, especially in the long distance running race, which was 600m!!
She said, “The team were fantastic. They gave each other great encouragement and cheered each other on. This gave everyone the courage and drive to push themselves and go for personal bests!”
The weather was not as hot as last week, but thankfully much better than Monday’s downpours.
The afternoon once again ended with the excitement of relay races which saw another set of amazing performances from our athletes.
When the scores were totalled, the efforts of our Yr 5-6 athletes were rewarded with a well-deserved second place!
A huge well done to everyone involved: to all the pupils who competed, all the parents who supported with transport to and from the event and, of course, to Mrs Robinson for overseeing the afternoon’s competition.
