Yr 3-4 Hockey Tournament

Medals & Much Fun for Year 3/4 Hockey Teams

On Wednesday 5th February it was the turn of the Yr 3/4 Hockey teams to go out and represent our school at the Priestlands inter-school event. Two teams of excited and eager players got themselves protected with shin pads and gum shields and set off headed off to have some fun.

It proved to be an exciting tournament that brought mixed fortunes to the two teams, but regardless of victory or defeat, Mrs Robinson was bowled over by their amazing enthusiasm, sportsmanship and all-round excellent behaviour.

Our A team came up against some very tough competition and despite scoring some excellent goals did not manage to reach a podium finish by the end of the afternoon. They might not have won medals , but the manner in which they played was certainly worthy of celebration – real Growth Mindset in action!!

The B team did extremely well in their league, winning all matches except one, but remaining undefeated for the afternoon. Their efforts saw them top the table with 22 points and bring home gold medals of which they are rightly proud.

It was a fantastic afternoon of hockey and both Mrs Robinson and Mrs Legg, who kindly took on the coaching of the B team were proud of every player that took part. Well done MOSPS!

As usual we would like to say a huge thank you to Mrs Robinson, to Mrs Legg, and to all the other parents and grandparents who helped transport the teams to and from Priestlands.
