English - Forest School leaflets
In English we have been learning all about the non fiction text type of leaflets. We began our learning by understanding what a leaflet is and who they are meant for. We looked at lots of different examples, noticing the language used and the layout.
We then decided that we would make a leaflet for new parents coming to our school and it would be all about Forest School! The children loved collecting words and phrases to describe what they do at Forest school and there was so much information to include!
For each section, we learnt the sentences using Talk 4 Writing and the children decided on their own actions to help them remember each part. The Year 2's also used this technique, but they then uplevelled their sentences using more information. All the children then created their final leaflet and are now being handed out to our new visitors!
