World Book Day 2023

World Book Day 2023

We have had a wonderful time exploring books during World Book Day this March. We loved dressing up and sharing books with each other and parents. Have a look to see what we have been up to...

Year R World Book Day

Highlights of the day!

Year 1/2 had a fantastic World Book Day. All the children and staff dressed up in amazing costumes based on their favourite book characters. They loved reading with the Year R children and did some great activities throughout the day.  They had clues which led to the discovery of an exciting new reading book: James and the Giant Peach and received a film ticket at the end of the day.

Year 3/4 have been inspired by Michael Rosen to cook up their own fairy-tales. They have opened their doors to welcome in parents and give the children the opportunity to show off our library and read some of their favourite books with their favourite people.

Year 5/6 shared their favourite books with each other and chose one they would like to read in the future. Inspired by this, we wrote blogs and have used Google Classroom so that we can continue to recommend books to one another. In maths, we read Fractions in Disguise and searched for the stolen fraction.

All classes have been extremely lucky to receive a mystery visitor. The author and illustrator Lawrence Roberts come in to read his brand-new book 'Snip!' and gave the children the opportunity to create their own heroes and villains.
