English - The Iron Man
The Iron Man
This half-term in English, we have carried out a book study on 'The Iron Man'. We began our unit of work by finding an Iron Man on the playground and wondering what it could be. We also made an Iron Man out of recyclable materials and explored the sounds metal makes to create onomatopoeias. We read each chapter and had a go at re-writing it in our own style thinking carefully about our word choices to create atmosphere for the reader. Finally, we re-wrote Chapter 1 or re-wrote what happened next in the story. Our teachers were very impressed with the stories we created and we hope you enjoy them too.
