Church Links

We are lucky to have very close links with All Saints' Church in the village. Visitors from the church often come into school and the children visit the church too, both for learning opportunities and for celebrations and services linked with the church calendar.

Milford Conservation Volunteers

The volunteer group answered Class 5's letters asking for funding for a bird box with a webcam.

Hearing Experts

The children in Year 3/4 learned all about hearing with Anne from the Sensory Impairment Team.

We have also been learning sign language.

Bournemouth water came in to help Year 3/4 with their learning.

World Veterinary Service

Year 3/4 kicked off their new topic 'Save our Species' with a visit from Nicky, from the World Veterinary Service and Young Vets Club. Nicky told them all about the work that WVS does to look after animals all over the globe.

Somali Peace Building Visitors

On Friday 30th November we had some very important visitors to our worship for KS2 children. Jama Egal and Zainab Hassan are advisers to the Somalia government on peace-building.  They are currently working on the ‘National Reconciliation Framework for Somalia’, a strategy to help bring communities who have experienced violence back together, and re-establish peace and prosperity in Somalia. While attending a conference at Winchester Cathedral, they managed to call in and share their own personal experiences of the war in Somalia, how this and issues like flooding, drought and political unrest led to problems and how now, with the help of the United Nations, the country is rebuilding and looking forward to a brighter future.

Year R New Forest National Park Visit

Year R received a visit from Sue Palma, who works for the New Forest National Park. They learn all about the different wildlife in the forest and the problems caused by littering.

Lush Visit MOSPS

Year 5/6 were lucky to receive a visit from LUSH Cosmetics company, who told them all about their eco-friendly products, packaging and their 'We Believe' statement. This has inspired the children to create their own companies, make their own products by recycling old waste and create their own 'We Believe' statements.

Volvo Ocean Race

Mr Seddon, who has two children at MOSPS, came into school to tell us all about the Volvo Ocean Race as he is part of the crew for the MAPFRE boat. He told us all about the race, who is taking part and what sort of conditions the sailors will be facing on their journey. He also shared some shocking information about the amount of plastic found in our oceans and has kicked started our learning on PLASTIC POLLUTION. We are going to be tracking the boats on their journey through the race.
