In our Geography lessons this half term we learnt about the Wonders of the World. We began by thinking about what the word 'wonder' means and what we thought our local wonders were. We learnt the vocabulary of physical and human geographical features and had a go at sorting images. Our learning continued by investigating mountains in the UK and then Mount Everest. We then found out about rivers and deserts and their features and located some on a world map. We found it very interesting to learn about the differences between 'ancient' and 'modern' wonders and really enjoyed learning about the seven ancient wonders. Then we continued to learn about the modern wonders and we really liked designing our own 'wonder of the world.'
We then chose to use our learning about the Pyramids of Giza to write a non chronological report in our English lessons. We used Talk 4 Writing to learn the sentences and use punctuation correctly. We were all very proud of our finished pieces.
