Journey
Journey
We read the book Journey, a wordless picture book, and discussed how the main character's feelings change throughout the story. We explored the language and description we could use for each plot point of the story. We then used all the skills we gained to re-write the story. Some children then typed their finished piece.
The children also produced beautiful water colour paintings to go alongside a setting description from the book.
In class 6, we studied each page and thought about what words would go with each picture. We then focused on grammar features, figurative language and entertaining the reader. At the end of the unit, we took snippets from each child's writing to make a class book.
