Milford-on-Sea Church of England Primary School Academy Trust

We 'CARE' Courage, Aspire, Respect, Explore

PE

At Milford-on-Sea Primary School we believe that all children should enjoy active learning and physical education. We want children to understand the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle in order to help children fulfil their potential and live happy, healthy lives.

We aim to promote lifelong learners who through cooperation and teamwork aspire to be the best they can be. We support this by developing a culture of challenge, using both competitive and co-operative physical activities and sports. Through sports and team games children will learn about fair play, mutual respect and tactics not only to try and win but to also improve.

Children will enjoy communicating, collaborating and competing with each other and learn to evaluate their performance and recognise their own success. Children will have opportunities to take part in outdoor and adventurous activities both individually and within a team. We aim to give children a broad and practical curriculum where they can challenge cultural, gender and racial stereotypes through sport and physical activities.

Our intention is for children to be courageous and challenge not only themselves but also others who may not be demonstrating fair play or respect.
