English - Zeraffa Giraffa
We have thoroughly enjoyed reading this book 'Zeraffa Giraffa' in our English lessons. First we made predictions based on what we could see in the pictures and then we read the text in each lesson completing different writing tasks along the way. We learnt about where Zeraffa was from and located this on a world map and we particularly loved learning about the RIver NIle and her journey. The children wrote diary entries, setting descriptions and they even had a go at designing a new flying machine for Zeraffa. They wrote beautiful letters to the King and learnt about persuasive writing. We thought about characters feelings and they thought of excellent adjectives for how they would have felt in a crowded city. The children loved this story and were even more intrigued when they learnt that it was true!
