In the morning,we left school at 9:00am ready to get on to the coach for a 40 minute drive to Southampton. Once we arrived at the SEA CITY MUSEUM we excitedly got into groups 1,2 and 3. Adam our workshop leader gave us facts about what they had on board. There were 4 activities to do such as:
how many water drops would sink the ice cube tray (a model of the Titanic)
What equipment there was
Who we would put on the Titanic first?
Morse code
After all these fun activities we were very hungry so we each got our packed lunch and went into a room with a very good view of their clock tower and the bustling road around the museum. We all had a great time laughing at lunch and discussing about how great the trip has been so far.
With our teachers, we had a game of I spy. We had to find all the items on the sheet. Most of us found them all but some didn’t but it was okay. We had a break and found some games that we could play like:
The coal machine
Morse code machine
A 3d ship game that we could play
A kind lady called Lisa gave us a tour around the museum and asked us questions that some of us knew the answer to. Lisa gave us a peace of coloured card and we had to find the facts about it.We all had a blast there, working together and communicating with each other.
We learnt so many new facts that we didn't know and was a great time learning so much.We were all really thankful for the helpers who taught us so much about the Titanic. At the end of the seasons we all said THANK YOU at hopped back on to the coach sitting for another 40 minutes but it was worth it.Over all it was a great experience and we all loved it.
