World Book Day 2024 - Reading for Pleasure
This year, we have had lots of fun thinking about reading for pleasure. We learnt about the reading behaviours that help us have fun with reading:
- Choose the books you want to read
- Listen to books being read aloud
- Make time to read
- Take books home to read
- Ask for ideas on what to read next
We dressed up, brought in our favourite books, talked about how much we love them and why.

A visit from local author and illustrator, Lawrence Roberts
Mr Roberts (author, illustrator and parent) visited us. The children loved his new book 'Rex's Park' and took on his challenge of designing a front cover for the book. He answered lots of questions about writing and illustrating a book and we discovered it takes a lot of resilience, courage and patience.
In Year 3/4, we created some book recommendation posters to jazz up our book corner.
