Queens
In the second half of term our history topic was Queens!
We introduced the topic by amassing all the information we knew about queens and posing questions of what we want to find out.
This helps inform and transform our learning journey - for example Class 3 wanted to know how many Corgis and pets the queen has. So we found out! Did you know the first royal corgi, Dookie, was welcomed to the family in 1933? And that Queen Elizabeth first got a corgi for her 18th birthday, it was called Susan?!
We used different sources of evidence (photos, paintings) to investigate what significant items queens seem to have. We've built on our understanding of the past, compared life in Victorian times, have researched Queen Victoria and of course role-played a Royal occasion!
