We are really proud of the sporting opportunities we offer our pupils here at MOSPS.
Whilst our primary aim is inclusion in and enjoyment of sport, we also recognise the role of competition in developing the sports stars of the future.
In 2019 we were once again awarded the School Games GOLD AWARD (now three years in a row) for our participation in competitive sport and our dedication to Physical Education & Games throughout 2018-19. And it was a successful year too, with many of our teams bringing home 1st place medals and trophies from their efforts at Priestlands School Sport Partnership events.
We are also proud of the comments received from other schools at these events about the teamwork and sportsmanship of our pupils.
Last year saw our sporting calendar interrupted by Covid-19, but was shaping up to be an equally impressive year, with many teams returning from events clutching medals and trophies. Up until the school closures in March, we managed to give 59% of our pupils the opportunity to represent the school in sporting competition.
Through this page you will be able to keep track of our efforts over the last couple of years and share in our achievements.
You can also check out 2020-2021s reduced and partially 'virtual' competition calendar run by the Priestlands School Sports Partnership.
This year has been another unusual one in terms of being able to offer competitive sport to our pupils, but working with the Priestlands Sports Partnership, we were pleased to be able to participate in a reduced and 'adapted' calendar of events both, here at MOSPS and at Priestlands School.
As some of the events were held here we were able to give more pupils the opportunity to compete 'virtually' and are proud to say that just under 75% of our pupils (Yr 1-6) represented the school in at least one event this year!
We are very proud of everyone who participated because, whether winning, or losing they showed their WE CARE values through their teamwork, positivity, effort and sportsmanship.
Go Team MOSPS!!
We look forward to the resumption of a more'normal' year of competitions in 2021-22.
