How is God Holy and Loving?
Y5/6 have been focussing on the idea of relationships and asking some tricky questions to try and widen their thinking. They began by looking at a Pop Idol and thinking whether they have a relationship with her? The children discussed how some thought it was possible to have a relationship with a person you may not have met.
Next they thought about Divine Creations and thought about what a God might look like and what values and actions they might possess.
They read Isiah 6:1-6, John 4: 7 -12 and some Psalms to look for evidence in how God is shown and how people have shared their relationships with God.
Children then thought about what Holy meant to them and inquired what the definition may be. They created their own artwork to show what they thought God being Holy and Loving would look like.
The Children looked for more evidence of God being Holy through worship songs and compared God to humans. They ended their learning by evaluating the Ten Commandments and thinking about how the Big Frieze Creation scene shows God as Holy and loving.
