Science - Use of Materials
We have been extending our knowledge of materials this half term with understanding their uses. We investigated the properties of different materials and sorted them accordingly. Then children went on a 'material hunt' around our school to find objects made of specific materials and we discussed why they were used. We then had a lot of fun discussing why some materials are more suitable for certain jobs.
We finished off our learning by conducting our own investigation into what material would muffle sound the best. The children found out what a 'fair' test is, made predictions and recorded their results.
We also finished off our seasonal changes work by learning more about summer. The children loved reading and recording the temperature each day and showing their results on a bar graph.
