Castles
This half term the children have been learning all about Castles and their features. We looked at castles all around the world and how they compare with a palace and what the differences are. They focused on 2 castles in the UK to look at in detail and we identified the different features and why they are important.
They had time to explore the history of castles and how they have changed over time and we placed these on a timeline.
We had great fun learning about who lived in a castle and the jobs that people would have had to do. The Year 2 children enjoyed making a job advertisement for one of the positions!
We finished off by learning about our local castle, Hurst Castle, in more detail. We then went on a fantastic trip to the castle.
