KS1 Gymnastics Event - 16th November

A Chance To Shine For Young Gymnasts

This week it was the turn of our youngest pupils to travel to Priestlands to enjoy an afternoon of gymnastics.

With no competitive element to the proceedings, our team of six were able to enjoy some quality coaching on floor work and use of equipment. Mrs Rand reported back that the coaches and young leaders were very impressed with the enthusiasm and listening skills or our pupils. She too, was very proud of how hard they worked to develop their skills and show off their ‘best’ balances and jumps.

The event was set out four zones – individual travel, paired balances, flight (on the vault) and the Air track – and the team moved around each zone in turn. Whilst the focus was on them improving their own performance, they were fantastic at supporting and encouraging one another to improve.

A huge well done to everyone who went and were so respectful, polite, enthusiastic and focused. Congratulations to Ethel, Molly and Hugo for being awarded ‘CREATIVITY’ wristbands for their efforts.

Thanks, as ever, to Mrs Rand for leading the team and to all the parents who kindly gave up their time to help with transport.

A great afternoon was had by all!

Next week it is back outdoors for the Yr 3-6 Cross Country Event!
