Yr 3-4 Paralympic Sport Event - 8th February

Yr 3-4 Pupils Participate in Paralympic  Sports

The last sporting event of the half term gave pupils the chance to participate in some fantastic, if unusual, sports made famous by the Paralympics.

The team of six Yr 3 & 4 pupils who accompanied Mrs Rand to the event were excited, if a little nervous, to get the opportunity to explore sports such as seated volleyball, goal ball, New Age Kurling and Boccia.

The focus of the afternoon was fun rather than competition and Mrs Rand said that the children really showed their WE CARE Values as they explored the new sports and aspired to master new skills.

Split into teams of three to enjoy the carousel of activities, the staff from Priestlands selected a player from each team to receive the ‘teamwork’ wristband. For us, it was Finlay and Joshua, although everyone was amazing and really threw themselves into each event. Well done to everyone who went!

Thanks, as ever to Mrs Rand, to Mrs Maynard, and to the parents who helped with transport on the day.

After half term it will be the turn of a KS1 team to represent the school in a fun FUTSAL event.
