KS1 Tennis Event - 7th June

Young Tennis Players Have Fun In The Sun

In the first of three scheduled PSP Tennis events, eight excited KS1 pupils set off on Wednesday afternoon this week to participate in a fun afternoon of non-competitive tennis.

The Priestlands Young Sports Leaders had set up five different coaching stations that our players visited in rotation over the afternoon. Each station targeted a different tennis skill: forehand, backhand, net volleys and smashes, as well as a giant tennis ball game of catch to get them moving across the court. A couple of rest breaks were factored in, to give everyone a little time out of the sunshine, but otherwise it was tennis and more tennis!

Mrs Rand reported back that it was a fantastic afternoon and that all of our pupils were amazing. Special mention needs to go to Manny and Joseph, who were awarded ‘Determination’ wristbands by the Priestlands staff for their performance at the event.

Our thanks, as always to Mrs Rand, for coordinating the players and accompanying them on the rotation; to the parents who helped with transport and, of course, to all the players who took part and were such good sporting ambassadors for the school.

Next week it is the Yr 3-4 Tennis event.
